Who am I? well, to be honest, I'm still working that one out!! Still, I'm not 21 anymore, that much I do know. 40 caught me out this year.... Yeouch! As if that knowledge isn't bad enough, I have a 20 year old daughter and an 18 year old son to remind me. Urgh!

Most of you will have worked out by a process of lightening deduction that I'm Fiona's sister and although I'd like to lie, I know she'll blab so yes, I am the oldest. Urgh again. I live in Kent with my kids and cats (five of the blighters - oh, cats that is, not kids!!) and I am a very full time teddy bear designer. If my advertising campaign has paid off you'll know my name and if it hasn't, I hope my bears speak for themselves! In the dim and distant past I worked firstly as a PA in a London entertainments agency, then life events took over - hence family - and once that had settled into a routine I began working with special needs children. That filled my time for seven years and then I took the earth shattering decision to turn my hobby into a business, after getting a great deal of earache from a certain sister.

I began as a collector and then started to design my own teddy bears as a hobby, about eight years ago and eventually decided to begin selling them through fairs and by mail order. After some success in the 'British Bear Artist Awards' they really began to take off. I've been designing my teddy bears under the 'All Bear by Paula Carter' label for the past couple of years and am delighted with the success they have enjoyed. Many of them have now taken up residence all over the world!
