I am a relative newcomer to the world of Artist Bears, although I have been trading in Vintage/Antique Clothing and Fabric for over 20 years and collecting Silk Velvet for over 10 years, with the view of producing my own bears. I’m not sure how many I thought I would be making as I have hundreds & hundreds of yards of this velvet!!!

After starting to use Ebay to sell the bear fabric I have met some wonderful bear artists around the globe, and I never cease to be surprised at the helpful, friendly and loving nature of bear artists. I must mention Sindie Smith at this point, she has provided a never ending supply of her knowledge, kind wisdom and endless patience at my numerous questions. Bear Artistry has bought a whole new terminology to my vocabulary, At the moment I am more of a frustrated bear artist, I have attempted to make bears in the past, will do in the future. When time comes available, a very precious commodity.

I have recently set up the “The Vintage Bear Fabric Co”, due to the demand created by bear artists initially operating from Ebay (Ebay Id Vintagebearfabric), then I would like to have a website built and have a stand at some of the Bear Shows, as I prefer to meet people in the flesh not as sterile as the Web. Also the fabric looks soooo much better in the hand than what my photographic talents can recreate on the web.

To give a brief understanding of the other side of my partner & myself, I am also a Crystal Healer and Usui Shamballa Master, and run workshops and weekend events for crystal healing, Ley Line Walks and attunements. I firmly believe that the Artist Bears and all bears represent the Heart Chakra, The Love transmitted into a bear, from designing the pattern to choosing the finest materials, then creating piece by piece a bear with love, that radiates pure love is sheer magic. You just have to look at children of all ages including the big ones, when hugging bears.

Perhaps if more people in the world had a bear in their life, it wouldn’t be in such a mess it is today.
